ACIAR cooperated with Trees4Trees to conduct research entitled 'Overcoming Constraints to Community Based Commercial Forestry in Indonesia.' In the cooperation, ACIAR will make use Pati Management Unit as one of research locations until December 2014, together with other locations developed by other parties, such Gunung Kidul, Bulukumba, Konawe and Sumbawa. The objective of the research:
Analyzing social dimension of Community-based Commercial Forestry (CBCF) and design a framework for assessing its benefit for community who joined the program;
Evaluating the most dominant model of Community-based Commercial Forestry (CBCF) to provide better understanding on how maximize social economic potential and establishment of CBCF policy in Indonesia;
Improving capability of farmer group who involved in the most dominant model of community forestry in order to invest and take beneficial decision for the enhancement of livelihood;
Involve and influence primary stakeholder, so they can create optimum condition for the implementation of effective CBCF in Indonesia.
Social and Environmental Impact Assessment
During this period, Trees4Trees performed Social and Environmental Impact Assessment. Objective of environmental assessment was to identify positive and negative impact that possibly emerge of delivered program/activity towards surrounding environment.
Result of the assessment is Environmental Impact Assessment, Social Impact Assessment and High Conservation Value Report.
 
Mr. Nuryanto, guide of data collection on spring was checking the spring of 'Pucung Mudinan' in sub village of Pulingan, Gunungsari village, Tlogowungu, Pati District. A cultural site namely 'Keramat Buyut Remik' which became a finding during Social Impact Assessment in Sentul village, Cluwak sub-district, Pati. A location visited during Social Impact Assessment in Pati. It was at the slope of Gunung Muria.
Preparation of 2011 Seedbed
The preparation of seedbed was aimed at preparing seedling as supply of 2011 Planting Program. It implemented in 3 locations: Banyumas, Purbalingga and Klaten with support fro State Agricultural Vocational School and Farmer Group. Seedlings prepared in the seedbed: Teak, Mahogany, Sengon, Suren and Mango.

Students of SMKN 1 Kalibagor, Banyumas was preparing seedbed. SMKN 1 Kalibagor was one of parties cooperate with Trees4Trees. The other parties were pondok pesantren and farmer group. Members of Berkah Lestari farmer group, Management Unit Purbalingga and community around the seedbed prepared soil and other mixture for filling polybag.

Seedbed at Patemon village, Target Area Bojongsari, Management Unit Purbalingga was equipped with cover to protect seedling from rain and direct sun light or animal.  Planting Manager, Mr. Ejeb Sudrajat (second from left) was selecting the seedlings.
Area Manager Coordination Meeting
The meeting took place at Kampoeng Kopi, Banaran, Bawen, Semarang District. It was organized to discuss general issues regarding planting activity, production, planning for next period, including education program. In a session of the meeting, there was signing of MoU between Trees4Trees with supporting institution, such as vocational school and pondok pesantren.

Planting Manager, Mr. Ejeb Sudrajat was explaining material in the MoU. A participant of the meeting was responding explanation provided by personnel of Trees4Trees.
