Have you ever paused for a while to think about the effort behind the food on our table – from fruits, nuts, spices, vegetables, to rice and bread? Every bite is thanks to the tireless work of farmers. Beyond providing us food, they play a crucial role in protecting the land, water, and air we depend on through trees and plants they grow.
This September 24th, Indonesia where our tree-plantings are rooted – celebrates National Farmers’ Day. It’s a moment to honor farmers’ vital role in food security and environmental sustainability.
Despite their importance, farmers face serious challenges, making our support more urgent than ever. This month, together with our supporters, we invite you to stand with farmers by planting trees with them.
We Grow with Farmers
Trees don’t grow alone. Behind every tree we plant are local farmers who help grow, plant, and care for them—turning degraded land into thriving landscapes while creating opportunities for their families.
Since 2008, our tree planting involves 90,000 more local farmers in over than 500 villages across Java and Bali.
Together, we work to ensure trees are planted and thrive—restoring ecosystems and strengthening communities.
Why Farmers Matters
They grow our food.
From rice and vegetables to fruits and other crops, farmers help put food on our tables.
They care for the land.
Through sustainable farming and tree planting, farmers can help protect soil, water, and ecosystems.
They need our support
Of Indonesia’s 27.76 million people living in poverty, 17.28 million live in rural areas, where many depend on agriculture for their livelihoods.
Plant Trees.
Make Double Impact
Farmers are at the frontline of environmental stewardship and food resilience. They care for the land, grow our food, and help protect the water, air, and ecosystems we all depend on. When you plant a tree with us, you create double impact.
